About Natter

Natter is an award-winning comedy set in 1980s Salford - following the trials and tribulations of Helen and Linda, two 'old women' who spend their time grappling with useless husbands, a homosexual son and, most importantly, what's on telly! (Helen & Linda may, or may not, be played by two gay men in drag!) Winning Best Comedy at Manchester Fringe 2024. Natter is written by, and stars, award-winning artist, Joe Henry-Evans (Best Newcomer, Manchester Fringe 2021) alongside John Thacker, and directed by Qweerdog's artistic director, Stewart Campbell (Jump, Brighton Fringe 2024). Natter was also nominated for the Write for the Stage Award, Canal St LGBTQ+ Award, as well as the Audience Choice Award at GM Fringe. Join us to find out if Helen is having it off with the vicar; just what links the Didsbury mafia with Linda's gay son; and what exactly does Helen have against poor old Cilla Black!
