In 2025, Matthew Shiel and Fringe Classics made history by performing the world’s first piano recital of music composed by artificial intelligence at the Edinburgh Festival and this historic event was broadcast on Al Jazeera. AI Mozart is a ground-breaking live concert of original piano pieces composed by artificial intelligences in an eclectic variety of styles from Beethoven and Brahms to boogie-woogie and Latin salsa to ridiculous hybrid genres including Viking progressive death polka! Step into the future of music and be the first to listen to an AI composer LIVE at the Brighton Fringe! Matthew Shiel is an award-winning pianist who has collaborated with BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra (broadcast on BBC Radio 3), The Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marine Band Scotland and has been broadcast on Al Jazeera.
