About Two-Stroke, the Northern Soul Musical
Two-Stroke is “a lively and enjoyable trip through the world of Northern Soul music” (Isle of Wight County Press), a fast-paced new musical inspired by the electric buzz of the 1986 National Scooter Rally. Three teenagers pile onto the ferry in search of the best weekend of their lives — chasing music, freedom, and the thrill of escape. Over one unforgettable weekend, friendships are forged, tensions rise, and plans take unexpected turns, all set to the driving beat of Northern Soul. Featuring iconic tracks including Beggin', I’m On My Way, and Out On The Floor, Two-Stroke captures the joy, heartache, and rebellion of youth, celebrating the unifying power of music and the moments that shape who we become. Written by award-winning playwright Joe Plumb, this “musical delight” (Isle of Wight County Press) is fun, heartfelt, and bursting with soul.
